I created this page for all my little musings that happen to me and around me, that typically and thankfully turn up as some sort of creative inspiration to keep my life rich and full of wonderful things. I'm not sure I have the discipline to actually pursue a career as a full time bloggeress at this stage of my life. Still, there are a lot of folks who enjoy following me on Facebook and Instagram, so maybe this can help fill in the blanks that can't be achieved in a 140-character or less communication.
After a whole year of writing a song a week for the RealWomen RealSongs project, my creative wheelhouse had a fun soundtrack in place, but I really wanted to do something that wasn't songwriting for a change. So, I turned to my wall of yarn and cubbies filled with fabrics, felts, jars of buttons and ribbons, and got to work making assorted blankies, boo boo bunnies, shawls and harmless stuffed monsters. I'll attempt to include a little gallery that I'll add to as I sew and stuff along. I don't have any plan to sell my creations at this time. It's so much fun to give them away and receive a smile. That's enough for me.
God gave all of us special gifts and talents. What may be a talent for you may not be something I'm anywhere near at being adept. Even if I may not sew a straight edge or have dimpled seams, I will still be drawn to create things that bring me joy and satisfaction, and maybe bless someone in the process with a simple handmade gift from my heart. It's not about perfection. It's about the doing. Seek out those buried treasures known as your talents and lean into them. They're the things that make you stronger. love, c
